Adrian BăzăvanDue Diligence research associate, Exiger

Adrian Băzăvan is a due diligence professional, assisting leading financial institutions, multinational corporations and governmental agencies in preventing compliance breaches and responding to regulatory risks. In addition, he is specialized in EU trade policy in ASEAN and EU-China cooperation on science and technology. In this capacity, he works as an external trade expert for European institutions, providing consultancy, research and technical assistance on free trade agreements in Asia. 

He obtained his bachelor in political science as the Valedictorian, from the National School of Political Sciences and Public Administration (NSPSPA) Bucharest, where he also completed his first master’s in Public Policies and European Integration. Adrian has obtained his second postgraduate degree in international relations and Chinese politics from Yenching Academy of Peking University. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in Economics at the Bucharest University of Economics, researching China’s innovation policy, with a focus on artificial intelligence and green-energy vehicles. 

Driven by the belief that cultural awareness is key to solving many of today’s most pressing issues, Adrian has been working and studying in places as diverse as the United States, China, Russia and Singapore. Besides his native Romanian, he is proficient in English, Chinese and French, as well as intermediate in Russian. 

Being a long-time advocate for youth rights, Adrian has led and served in several students’ associations, such as the Romanian National Students Council and the Romanian League of Students Abroad.

In his spare time, he is a passionate dancer, mountain explorer and keen boxer. He greatly enjoys reading psychological novels and motorcycling.
