Luminita Stevens joined the University of Maryland in 2012 after completing her PhD at Columbia University. Her primary research areas are macroeconomics and international macroeconomics, with a focus on information frictions. Her recent work studies the behavior of prices at the micro level in order to draw implications for monetary policy at the aggregate level, how economic agents acquire and update their information about changing market conditions, and the role of search costs in explaining price differences within countries and across international borders.
